GravityForms add-on allows to use WPML with GravityForms, to create multilingual contact forms. To use this plugin, you’ll need WPML’s String Translation and Translation Management modules. Once installed, go to the Translation Dashboard. There, you’ll see the contact forms, ready for translation.

XLIFF package allows exporting translation jobs to desktop translation software. This is an add-on plugin. It requires the base “WPML Multilingual CMS” to run. This package creates XLIFF files and includes them in the translation job notification emails. Translators will be able to use their favorite CAT tools to translate offline and return the translations to WPML. In order to use it, you must install WPML Translation Management. The XLIFF interface is added to the translation jobs list and notification emails. You can read about how it works in the XLIFF interface documentation.

Sticky Links turns all internal links into unbreakable, by following the document that’s being linked to. This is an add-on plugin. It requires the base “WPML Multilingual CMS” to run. Pages, posts, categories, tags and custom types all have default URLs. These URLs point to the object ID. No matter what changes the pages undergo, the IDs always remain the same, identifying them in the CMS. This plugin converts all links in the DB to the default URLs. Then, just as the pages are displayed, it replaces the links back to the permalinks. When you view the DB, you’ll see ‘ugly’ looking links. However, when visitors view your site, they would always see the up-to-date links. You can change slugs, hierarchy and permalink structure and all links always remain valid.

Translation Management package helps run translations for large WordPress sites. This is an add-on plugin. It requires the base “WPML Multilingual CMS” to run. Site admins can turn ordinary WordPress users into translators. Translators can only edit specific content that was assigned to them for translation. Admins get a complete overview of what’s already translated and what needs translation or update. They can send content to translation to specific translators and track progress. Each translator has a queue of pending jobs. Translators don’t need to look for what to do, it just waits for them.
When translating, you see both the original and translation and what changed. You can conveniently move from one field to the other, and switch between Visual and HTML views. Translators don’t need to worry about interlinked content. WPML will automatically update links to point to other translated content. Translators only need to translate the text and nothing else.

String Tranlsation allows translating texts in the theme, in other plugins and in the WordPress Admin. This is an add-on plugin. It requires the base “WPML Multilingual CMS” to run. The String Translation package includes support for static and dynamic texts. Static texts are hard-coded into the PHP source. Normally, they are translated using .mo files, but with the String Translation package, they can be translated right from within the WordPress Admin. Dynamic texts is everything that is user-editable. The site’s tagline is an example. Other dynamic texts are often found in the theme settings (like site footer) and in plugins. SEO plugins include many dynamic texts, for titles and meta-data.

WPML combines multilingual content authoring with powerful translation management. It powers corporate sites and is simple enough for bloggers. Every element in WordPress becomes multilingual. This include pages, posts, tags, categories, custom types and even comments. You can display translations in URLs such as example.com/es/, example.com/fr/ or in completely different domains, or sub-domains, per language. When you view the lists of pages and posts, you’ll see what’s already translated and what not. You can add translations from the list-view or while editing content.
